Summary

CMS has made several changes to telehealth services, including adding telephone codes to the list of billable services, increasing payment rates for audio-only codes, and expanding the list of services that can be provided via telehealth. Providers can use either Medical Decision Making (MDM) or total time spent on the day of the encounter to select a level of service for office visits performed via telehealth. Telephone codes 99441-99443 are now considered telehealth services

* Virtual check-ins and remote monitoring are not considered telehealth services.
