The 14th Paediatric Infectious Diseases Teaching Course, endorsed by the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), took place online from December 2-4, 2021. The course featured various sessions with lectures on topics such as UTI in hospitalized children, pneumococcal situation during the COVID-19 pandemic, antimicrobial stewardship, Kawasaki disease, and more. Faculty members from different countries presented, including Israel, Germany, Taiwan, UK, Greece, Romania, and Spain. The course included panel discussions, moderated question and answer sessions, and virtual coffee breaks. Topics also covered COVID-19 vaccine trials, mononucleosis, RSV infection, antimicrobial therapy, and emerging zoonosis. The final session included discussions on life course immunisation, obesity in children, liver disease in SARS-CoV-2 infection, and the pneumococcus story in the Brasov area.
