A retrospective study compared the one-year survival rate of patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The study included 484 CABG cases and 292 PCI cases from 2009 to 2012. The results showed that 27 patients (5.57%) died in the CABG group, which was significantly higher than the 8 cases (2.73%) in the PCI group. However, when considering the number of diseased coronary vessels, no significant difference was observed in mortality between CABG and PCI groups for one-, two-, or three-vessel disease. The study concluded that although PCI was associated with a better one-year survival rate, the number of diseased coronary vessels did not significantly affect the survival rate.
