Xofluza is a medicinal product for the treatment of uncomplicated influenza in patients aged 1 year and above, and for post-exposure prophylaxis of influenza in individuals aged 1 year and above. It is available in 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg film-coated tablets, containing baloxavir marboxil as the active substance. The recommended dose is a single oral dose, determined by body weight, and should be taken as soon as possible within 48 hours of symptom onset or close contact with an individual known or suspected to have influenza. Xofluza should not be taken with products containing polyvalent cations, and patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine. Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis and urticaria, have been reported, and the safety and efficacy of baloxavir marboxil have not been established in patients with severe hepatic impairment or in children aged less than 1 year.
