Summary

Nearly 75% of households in the EPIC-Norfolk study were concordant in their dietary supplement use, with 46.7% not using supplements and 27.0% using them. Having a spouse who used supplements made a participant nearly 9 times more likely to use supplements, with odds ratios ranging from 6.2 to 11.7 after adjusting for age, smoking status, BMI, social class, education, and physical activity. Spouse concordance was the strongest predictor of supplement use, increasing with age and varying less by other socio-demographics.
