Associate Professor Alexander Niessner, MD, MSc, has a strong educational background, including a University Course in Health Care Management and an MSc in Epidemiology. His career history includes positions as PhD senior supervisor, Associate Professor, and tenure track position at the Medical University of Vienna. He has completed fellowships in Intensive Care Medicine, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine, and holds board certifications in Internal Medicine.

Niessner has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, with 79 original articles, 21 reviews, and a total impact point of over 700. He has received several grants, including the Schroedinger Mobility Grant and the Scholarship of the European Union. His awards include the Werner Klein Award, Future Award of the City of Vienna, and the Otto-Kraupp-Award.

He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the European Society of Cardiology, Austrian Society of Cardiology, and Austrian Society of Internal Medicine. Niessner has served as a reviewer, editorial board member, and faculty/expert panel member for various organizations and journals.
