Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an education and training workshop for mental health nurses on administering LAAIs.

Methodology: A mixed-methods approach was used, consisting of a 7-item multiple-choice questionnaire to assess knowledge gain and a post-evaluation questionnaire to assess satisfaction with the workshop.

Results:

39 usable questionnaires were received, representing 86.7% of the 45 participants.
Demographic information: majority of participants were female (76.9%), aged 26-45 years (57.5%), and had 0-5 years of work experience (41.5%).
Knowledge gain: significant increase in knowledge was observed after the workshop.
Satisfaction: 31.7% of respondents reported being satisfied, and 68.3% reported being very satisfied with the topic delivery.
* All respondents found the use of mental health/learning disability examples helpful in understanding the process.

Conclusion: The workshop was effective in increasing knowledge and satisfaction among mental health nurses on administering LAAIs. The use of a collaborative approach, audio-visual materials, and simulation suite practice delivery contributed to the positive outcomes.
