Summary

A 9-year prospective cohort study of the China Kadoorie Biobank found that red meat and fish intake were positively associated with diabetes risk in Chinese adults, particularly among urban participants, while poultry intake was not associated with diabetes risk. Each 50g/day increase in red meat and fish intake was associated with 11% and 6% higher risk of incident diabetes, respectively.
