Summary

A study compared the short-term safety and efficacy of the iREACH Magnum powered stapler with an established powered stapler system in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) procedures. 81 patients underwent LSG, with 34 using the iREACH stapler and 47 using the conventional stapler. Results showed no significant differences in patient demographics, and similar complication rates, with 2 cases of superficial wound infections and no Grade II or higher complications. There were no postoperative bleeding, stenosis, staple-line leak events, or mortality. The iREACH Magnum powered stapler appears to have a similar short-term safety profile to the established powered stapler system.
