The International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) is organizing a workshop on capacity and leadership development in nutritional sciences, to be held in Japan from September 7-9, 2010. The workshop aims to develop leadership among young researchers and practitioners in the field of nutrition in Asian regions. Participants will acquire knowledge and skills through lectures, field trips, and discussions on topics such as "Shokuiku" at the national level, nutrition and community empowerment, and functional food. The workshop is free of charge, and travel expenses for overseas participants will be covered by the Local Organizing Committee. Applications will be accepted from May 10 to June 10, 2010.
