Ash Wednesday (March 1):

Masses at 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM with ash distribution.
Traditional Lenten soup supper in the cafeteria following evening Mass.

Lent Focus:

Emphasis on Stations of the Cross each Friday at 7:00 PM.
Adult Bible study of Passion narratives following Stations.
Small Lent groups using "Live Lent" booklet based on Sunday readings.
Operation Rice Bowl collection for those in need.

Special Announcements:

Ecumenical Reformation Service: February 26, 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church (Altoona) celebrating the 500th anniversary with proclamations from bishops of Lutheran and Catholic synods.
Travel Plans: Planned overnight trip to New York City (details forthcoming) and a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in May 2018 (more information to come).

Adult Ed:

Continuing Robert Barron's "Pivotal Players" series highlighting Christian history figures, with a focus on St. Thomas Aquinas this week.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:

Every Sunday in Lent at 11:00 AM Mass, children participate in a special "Liturgy of the Word for Children" featuring blessings, readings, and discussions led by catechists.

Parish Family Spotlight:

Jim & Barbara McClarren (new to the parish in May 2015) with blended family of 2 sons, 3 daughters, 2 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Jim is retired from physical therapy; Barbara taught in parochial schools and worked in long-term care pharmacy. They both actively participate in parish life.
