Summary

A cross-sectional study of 80 caregivers of children with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Al-Madinah, Saudi Arabia, found that 43.8% experienced moderate to severe burden and 18.8% experienced severe burden. The study used the validated Arabic version of the Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) scale and found that female caregivers had a significantly higher burden than male caregivers (47.3 ± 16.5 vs 39.3 ± 16.8, p=0.045). The burden on caregivers was not significantly associated with other sociodemographic factors, presence of help, or characteristics of the ADHD child.
