วิธีปฏิบัติงานเรื่องการตรวจหาเลือดในอุจจาระ รหัสเอกสาร WI-LAB-054 มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อตรวจหาเลือดแฝงในอุจจาระ ช่วยในการตรวจคัดกรองและติดตามความรุนแรงของโรคหรือการรักษาของแพทย์ รวมถึงค้นหาโรคมะเร็งลำไส้ใหญ่ในระยะแรกและระยะก่อนเป็นมะเร็ง การทดสอบใช้ชุดทดสอบ FITtest โดยเก็บอุจจาระในหลอดเก็บตัวอย่างที่มีบัฟเฟอร์ และทำการทดสอบโดยหยดลงบนชุดทดสอบ หากตัวอย่างอุจจาระมีปริมาณฮีโมโกลบินตั้งแต่ 100 ng/ml ขึ้นไป จะเกิดแถบสีขึ้นที่ตำแหน่งเทส การทดสอบมีขั้นตอนการเตรียมผู้ป่วย การเตรียมสิ่งส่งตรวจ และขั้นตอนการสอบเทียบ คุณภาพของการทดสอบจะถูกควบคุมโดยการตรวจสอบการเกิดสีของแถบควบคุม และการทำ IQC และ EQA เพื่อให้แน่ใจว่าผลการทดสอบมีความถูกต้องและเชื่อถือได้
