The YUFE Minor Urban Health & Wellbeing is a 30 ECTS program offered annually (fall or spring semester) by a consortium of leading European universities within the YUFE network.

Target Audience: The minor is designed for students from diverse academic backgrounds interested in urban health and wellbeing, offering a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach.

Core Features:

Interdisciplinary Focus: Covers health, wellbeing, social sciences, culture, and history through three modules: mandatory courses, electives, and a collaborative "Challenge Team" project.
Practical Application: Combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience through service learning, internship opportunities, research participation, and a final implementation project.
Global Perspective: Aligned with the World Health Organization's "Health for All in the 21st Century" strategy and draws on Lalonde’s health determinants model to explore urban health challenges globally.

The minor comprises:

Mandatory Module (3 ECTS):
"History and Cultural Heritage" (Toruń) - Explores the city's history and cultural institutions, focusing on its impact on urban wellbeing.
Elective Courses (15 ECTS):
Topics include epidemiology, dietetics, addictions, anthropology, art therapy, and more, allowing students to tailor their learning to specific interests within urban health and wellbeing.
Challenge Team (6 ECTS):
Collaborative project addressing a real-world urban health challenge, such as caring for elderly chronically ill patients in healthcare institutions. Students apply learned knowledge and skills to propose innovative solutions.
