Our hospital's respiratory surgery department has been in operation for three years, and we have made significant progress in providing medical care to our patients. We have performed a total of 44, 43, and 37 surgeries in the first, second, and third years, respectively. Although the number of surgeries has decreased, we have optimized our treatment by reducing unnecessary surgeries and providing appropriate treatment to those who need it. We have also seen an increase in direct referrals from other hospitals, with 3, 8, and 20 cases in the first, second, and third years, respectively.

In terms of lung cancer treatment, we have performed 20, 18, and 19 surgeries in the first, second, and third years, respectively. Our surgical methods include lobectomy, segmentectomy, and wedge resection, with a focus on preserving lung function. We have also introduced video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for early-stage lung cancer patients.

We have also treated patients with pneumothorax, a condition where air leaks into the space between the lungs and chest cavity. We have developed a treatment strategy for this condition and have achieved a recurrence rate of 91% over an average observation period of 1.5 years.

Our hospital's respiratory surgery department works closely with the internal medicine department to provide comprehensive care to our patients. We also have a system in place for joint treatment with other departments, such as radiology and rehabilitation.
