The National Cursillo Center is located in Jarrell, Texas, and its history dates back to 1949 when the first numbered Cursillo took place in Mount Randa, San Honorat, Mallorca, from January 7-10. This Cursillo, led by Fr. Guillermo Payeras and Eduardo Bonnín, marked the beginning of the Cursillos becoming official and numbered. The movement gained strength, with 20 Cursillos celebrated that year, and the need for numbering arose to avoid confusion. A plaque was placed at the entrance to the Monastery of San Honorat to commemorate this event. The Cursillo movement emphasizes transforming environments and living a life of piety, study, and action, as exemplified by Father Jasso, one of the first Cursillistas in the United States, who dedicated his life to serving others and spreading the teachings of Cursillo.
