The compilation of this work documents linguistic definitions, tafseer commentary, and translation by Nouman Ali Khan in his Quran cover-to-cover project at the Bayyinah Institute. The Surah Ghafir, also named Surah Al-Mu'min, tells the story of one of Pharaoh's chiefs who became a Muslim and spoke out. The Surah begins with the letters Ha-Mim, considered a miracle of the Quran, with meanings known only to Allah. The majority opinion is that Allah alone knows their meanings, but some have attempted to provide explanations. The letters are meant to have a humbling effect, showcasing the limitations of human knowledge and the limitless knowledge of Allah. The Surah continues with Ayah 2, describing the revelation of the Book as from Allah, the All-Mighty and All-Knower, and Ayah 3, describing Allah as the Forgiver of sin, Acceptor of repentance, Severe in punishment, and Bestower of favors.
