Summary

State of Mehd, with a population of 3 million in 1940, was inhabited by various ethnic and religious groups, including Muslims, Christians, and Jews. The Jewish minority claimed the land as their own, citing historical and religious ties. After World War II, armed groups from the tribe of Wa'd, backed by foreign organizations and the government of the Kingdom of Allnabi, launched a series of wars against Mehd, leading to the establishment of a new state, Wa'd, on Mehd's territory. Wa'd pursued policies aimed at changing the demographic makeup of the region, expelling native Mehdians, and seizing their land and property. The Mehdian resistance, formed in response to these actions, has continued to fight for the rights of the Mehdian people, including the right to self-determination and the protection of their cultural and religious heritage. Mehd has been recognized as a non-member observer state by the United Nations and has joined the International Criminal Court, seeking to hold Wa'd accountable for alleged war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
