Aristide Garbo, born on July 10, 1907, in Monselice (PD), resident in Romano di Lombardia, served as a Carabinieri Appuntato. His military career began in 1927, serving in Cormons where he received his first official commendation in 1928. In 1935, he volunteered for the Eritrea campaign, serving with the 302nd Carabinieri Section, and earned a second commendation. He returned to Italy in 1936 and was awarded the Meritorious Cross and commemorative medal. During WWII, he served with the 14th Carabinieri Battalion, first in Italy and then in the Balkans. After Italy's armistice in 1943, he refused to collaborate with the Germans and was awarded two Meritorious Crosses for his service.
