Summary

El Real Alcázar de Sevilla conserva gran parte de sus revestimientos cerámicos y noticías documentales referidas a los mismos. El conjunto de alicatados mudéjares es el más importante de España después de la Alhambra. La fachada del palacio está datada en 1364-65 y sus cerámicas son de color negro, verde y azul. Los zócalos de los patios y habitaciones del palacio tienen una gama más rica de colores y están concebidos como revestimientos continuos. Se distinguen tres fases en la cronología de los alicatados: la primera del siglo XIV, la segunda del siglo XV y la tercera del siglo XVI. El conjunto de alicatados es el resultado de sucesivas intervenciones difíciles de desentrañar y debería ser objeto de un estudio monográfico.
