Imam Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Musa al-Khusrawjirdi, al-Khurasani, also known as al-Bayhaqi, was a renowned Shafi'i jurist, theologian, and hadith scholar. Born in 384 AH (994 CE) in Nishapur, he studied under prominent teachers, including Abu al-Hasan Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Alawi. Al-Bayhaqi was known for his intelligence, knowledge, and piety, and wrote numerous books, including Sunan al-Kabir, Ma'rifa al-Sunan wa al-Athar, and Al-Asma' wa al-Sifat. He was praised by scholars, such as Abu al-Ma'ali al-Juwayni and Dhahabi, for his mastery of hadith and fiqh. Al-Bayhaqi's works are considered highly valuable, and his Sunan al-Kabir is regarded as one of the most important collections of hadith. He died in 458 AH (1066 CE).
