The European Continental Assembly of the Synod 2021-2024 took place in Prague from February 5-12, 2023, and resulted in several conclusive documents, including:
1. Conclusive considerations approved by the Assembly on February 9,
2. A final document approved in draft form by the Assembly on February 9 and later integrated with written amendments,
3. A concluding note from the Bishops approved on February 11,
4. A list of participants (Appendix A), and
5. A working program (Appendix B).
These documents, along with other materials, are available on the dedicated website and the CCEE website.
The Assembly was a deeply spiritual experience through the synodal method, where participants came together to discuss and deepen their understanding of the Church in Europe, its tensions, and its questions.
The experience allowed the participants to look at the Church in Europe with its treasures and difficulties, and to affirm that the Church is beautiful and worthy of love, despite its wounds.
The Assembly emphasized the importance of synodality, dialogue, and reconciliation, and recognized the need to ask for forgiveness and to work towards healing and acceptance.
The participants expressed their love for the Church and their commitment to its mission, and acknowledged the richness of the Church's diversity.
The experience of the Assembly will contribute to the next steps of the synodal process, including the preparation of the Instrumentum laboris for the upcoming Synod Assembly.
