Summary

Chantal Soussi Chiadmi was born in the French Alps in the early 1950s to parents who had lived in Tunisia. She was involved with the leftist Christian youth movement Jeunesses Ouvrières Chrétiennes and defended the Palestinian cause. Chantal traveled to Portugal, Lebanon, and Algeria, and studied to become a social worker, focusing on migrant workers in France. She met her husband Abdallah, a Moroccan leftist activist, in Tangier in 1976, and they married in 1979. Chantal's book collection reflects her interests in pro-Palestinian, anti-colonial, and anti-racist literature, as well as social science studies and novels from Morocco, Algeria, and Lebanon. Her books have become a vital part of her conversations with her family, particularly her daughter Ouidade and her partner Virginie Bobin. Chantal's story is one of commitment, courage, curiosity, and love, and is told through her books and conversations with her family.
