# Assistant for Heritage Protection and Capacity Building - ICOM General Secretariat

Contract: Permanent, starting February 1, 2019

## Role Overview:
The successful candidate will join the ICOM General Secretariat, a dynamic team of 28 employees, and work closely with the Head of the Department to support various initiatives. This role is pivotal in advancing heritage protection and capacity-building activities across the organization.

## Key Responsibilities:
- Project Assistance: Develop, plan, and execute projects; create tools and content; ensure publication and distribution of department materials; and contribute to activity evaluations.
- Team Support: Coordinate departmental activities, assist with daily operations, edit internal documents, and aid in administrative and financial management, including budget preparation and expense tracking.
- External Relations: Implement projects in collaboration with ICOM's secretariat, committees, and external partners; facilitate communication about department activities; and actively participate in secretarial working groups.

## Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in History, Art History, Archaeology, International Politics, Cultural Management, or Law.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in heritage protection or museum settings.
- Skills: Strong team player with excellent communication and diplomatic abilities; organized, service-oriented, and proficient in project management and office tools.
- Languages: Fluent English and French; Spanish is an asset.
