Summary

Christian Transhumanism is an ancient Christian idea that views Christ as the fulfillment of essential humanity, where humans can become fully human through participation in Christ's full humanity, including eternal life and similitude with God. This concept, also known as Transcendent Humanism, was discussed by theologian Paul Tillich, who traced it back to the early anti-Gnostic theologian Irenaeus of Lyons. Christian Transhumanists believe that technology and love can converge to create a perfect state of mind, where humans can understand and connect with each other and God. They see the future of humanity as a shift from material consumption to a flow of information, where truth is the way, and humans become sustained by the Glory of God. The goal is to learn how to love perfectly, which is seen as a cognitive process, and to participate in salvation by accessing the Glory of God and becoming Christ-like. Technology, such as brain interfacing, is viewed as a means to enhance the love process and achieve hyper evolution of the mind and spirit.
