Summary

Die aktuelle Kirche wird im Matthäus-Evangelium 5,13-16 mit drei Bildern beschrieben: Salz der Erde, Licht der Welt und Stadt auf dem Berg. Als Salz der Erde sollen die Gläubigen ihren Geschmack und ihre Wirkung nicht verlieren, sonst sind sie nutzlos. Als Licht der Welt sollen sie ihre guten Taten zeigen, damit andere den Vater im Himmel preisen. Eine Stadt auf dem Berg kann nicht verborgen bleiben, und ein Licht wird nicht unter einen Scheffel gestellt, sondern auf einen Leuchter, um allen zu leuchten.
