In early 2021, Nativity Council initiated the Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Program through a dedicated Core Team to foster inclusivity and advocacy for LGBTQ+ individuals within the Lutheran church. The survey results from this process reveal strong support among the congregation: 88% were aware of Nativity's participation in the RIC initiative, with 75% strongly agreeing and 13% agreeing that they support the church's commitment to welcoming and celebrating all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

Over 160 survey responses were collected, with most participants (83%) strongly agreeing that Nativity should become an RIC Congregation. The Core Team has engaged the congregation through various means, including table discussions, one-on-one conversations, educational materials, book groups, worship messages, and video series. Approximately 9% reported that these offerings changed their initial opinion about the RIC program, while 45% indicated they remained unchanged.

Key findings:

- Overwhelming majority in favor of Nativity becoming an RIC Congregation.
- Engagement with offered resources, with some participants' opinions shifted by these interactions.
