The Daf discusses various activities permitted or prohibited on Chol Hamoed. An "unskilled person" is defined as one who can't pull through a needle-full of stitches at one time or make a straight, even hem. The term "misargin" refers to full weaving stitches, while "mimatchin" means tightening loose ropes. On Chol Hamoed, one may set up a tanur oven, a kirayim oven, or a set of millstones, but R' Yehuda says not to "mechabshin" the millstones initially, which means making grooves in the millstone or making the hole in the middle of the stone.

Permitted activities on Chol Hamoed include cutting the nails of horses or donkeys, brushing horses with a metal comb, building grain feeding receptacles, stone benches, and letting the blood of an animal. Pressing clothes is allowed as it's considered unskilled labor, but pleating sleeves is prohibited as it's skilled labor. Smoothing out land for threshing needs is allowed, but preparing land for planting is not. Collecting branches for wood is permitted, but clearing land is not. Opening an access point of water to catch fish is allowed, but watering the field is not. Removing branches from a palm tree to feed animals is permitted, but doing so to foster the tree's growth is not.

Cutting open unripe dates to eat them is allowed, but pressing them is prohibited unless it prevents a loss. Doing business dealings on Chol Hamoed is prohibited, but preventing a loss is permitted. Collecting a debt on Chol Hamoed is allowed if it's easier to locate the people. Making fish traps is permitted as it's unskilled labor, but making bird traps is not. Building an oven on Chol Hamoed is prohibited in the rainy season but allowed in the summer season if the oven can be used on Yom Tov.
