Ms. Gladys Singleton was born in 1915, moved to Florida in 1938, and worked as a farm worker, maid, and drug store assistant before becoming a crossing guard at Glade View Elementary School, retiring at 86. She turned 100 in 2015 and was recognized by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
