Summary

Tijdens de bezetting werden veel bedrijven in Nederland gesloten vanwege een tekort aan grondstoffen. De textielindustrie werd zwaar getroffen, maar wist door creatieve oplossingen en tegenwerking van het Rijksbureau voor Textiel een deel van de productie op peil te houden. De wolindustrie gebruikte 22.000 ton spinmateriaal voor Duitse orders, maar wist ook een deel hiervan voor Nederlandse productie te gebruiken. Het Rijksbureau voor Textiel bood tegenwerking door voorraden weg te werken en afvalpercentages te manipuleren, waardoor bruikbare weefsels konden worden vervaardigd. Ook werden er partijen grondstoffen, zoals manilla, weggewerkt die voor het verzet gebruikt konden worden.
