St Mary's Cathedral in Hobart has mass times of 7:30am from Tuesday to Friday, 5:00pm on Saturday, and 10:30am and 6:00pm on Sunday. Sacred Heart Church in New Town has mass times of 9:00am from Tuesday to Thursday, 8:00am on Saturday, and 8:30am on Sunday. Lawrenny Court has a mass time of 10:30am on Friday. The parish office can be contacted for enquiries about baptisms and marriages. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available at St Mary's Cathedral from 4:00pm to 4:30pm on Saturdays. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held at the Cathedral Crypt from 6:00pm to 12:00am on Fridays. The parish is also inviting people to become Catholic through the RCIA program.

The 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time reflection is about Matthew's Gospel and how Jesus is the stone rejected by the builders that has become the cornerstone. This can be applied to our own lives, where our weaknesses and past mistakes can be turned into something positive through God's grace. The parish news includes the availability of prayer cards, the opening of the Cathedral Bookshop, and the sale of 2024 Columban Calendars. The church is also inviting people to pray the rosary during the month of October, especially for the Synodal Assembly in Rome. Deacon Vinco Muriyadan has been cleared to return to full-time ministry and will be ordained to the priesthood on November 27.
