Stronghold Plus is a spot-on solution for cats, available in three strengths: 15 mg/2.5 mg for cats ≤2.5 kg, 30 mg/5 mg for cats >2.5-5 kg, and 60 mg/10 mg for cats >5-10 kg. It contains selamectin and sarolaner as active substances. The product is indicated for the treatment and prevention of mixed parasitic infestations, including fleas, ticks, lice, mites, gastrointestinal nematodes, and heartworm. It has immediate and persistent activity against fleas and ticks for 5 weeks. Contraindications include cats suffering from concomitant disease, debilitated and underweight cats, and hypersensitivity to the active substances or excipients. Special precautions for use include applying the product to dry skin, avoiding eye contact, and keeping treated animals away from fires and sources of ignition. Adverse reactions may include mild and transient pruritus, alopecia, erythema, and drooling. The product is highly flammable and should be kept away from heat and open flames.
