No over-the-counter medication will be given to students without written permission from the parent, legal guardian, or a student who is 18 years old or older. The school health rooms will supply generic Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen with a completed form. High school students may self-carry one day's dose of over-the-counter medication with consent on file. All medication must be non-expired, in the original container, and stored in the health room. Medication will be given according to the manufacturer's recommended dosages.

For prescription medication, written consent from the parent/guardian and the student's practitioner is required. The practitioner's orders must include the medication name, dose, route, time, and reason. The medication must be non-expired, in a clearly labeled pharmacy container, and securely stored in the health room.

Parents/guardians must provide any changes to medication administration orders and track prescription medication. Staff may only administer medication as directed by the student's practitioner. Unused medication will not be returned to the student unless authorized to self-carry.
