Summary

Thomas Pretty, a farmer from Lyddington, made his last will and testament on November 8, 1754. He left his soul to God and his body to be buried at the discretion of his executors. His temporal estate was bequeathed as follows:

Son John Pretty: £41 when he turns 24, to be paid by his executors (Joseph, Thomas, and Samuel Pretty)
Daughters Mary and Ann Pretty: £20 each
Daughters Elisabeth Vines and Susanna Hopkins: £1 20s each
Sister Rebecca Pretty and Henry Barefoot: £1 20s each
Wife: one cow, 40 sheep, 40 hundredweight of coals yearly, and all household goods
Son Joseph Pretty: the house and close with appurtenances, and one acre of land at Woodcocks Bush

The will also stated that Joseph Pretty would receive half of the farming stock, goods, and chattels, paying £5 yearly to his wife, while Thomas and Samuel Pretty would share the other half. The will was proved on April 20, 1759, and administration was granted to Joseph and Samuel Pretty.
