Game Administration:

Player Participation: Each team must have a minimum of four (4) players to start, and three (3) to finish. Coaches can combine players if needed. Each player should handle the ball once during the game for optimal development.
Playing Time: All players must play 50% of the game. Late arrivals are accommodated with a minimum of two full quarters of play.
Time-outs: Each team gets four (4) time-outs per game, not to be used consecutively. Only one head coach and one assistant are allowed on the bench.
Quarters: Games consist of six (6) minute quarters with normal stoppages. Slow breaks are implemented in the first three quarters; fast breaks are only permitted in the fourth quarter.
Possession: Jump balls start regulation play, followed by a possession arrow thereafter. Overtime begins with a jump ball. Overtime periods last three (3) minutes; sudden-death overtime is played if scores remain tied after this period.

Handling the Ball and Defense:

Slow Break Rule: No fast breaks or back-court pressing for the first three quarters. Offenses must allow defenses time to cross mid-court before advancing past half court. Defenses cannot leave the 3-point arc until the offense crosses mid-court.
Mercy Rule: If a team leads by ten (10) or more points, back-court pressing and fast breaks are prohibited. One warning per infraction, followed by a two-shot technical foul and possession for the opposing team. This rule is nullified if the trailing team reduces the lead to single digits.

Coaching, Parent, and Player Behavior:

Respect: All participants (players, coaches, parents) are encouraged to demonstrate respect for one another and game officials.
Ejections: Any player/coach/spectator ejected for inappropriate behavior will have disciplinary action determined by the OPC Director.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Technical fouls will be assessed for unsportsmanlike trash talking, resulting in a two-shot free throw and possession for the opposing team upon a second offense, and a one-game suspension from the next scheduled game for the offending player.
* Foul-Outs: If a player fouls out while down by one player, the game continues as 5-on-5. The fouled-out player cannot score and receives automatic two free throws if they or their team commits another foul.
