The IJF World Ranking List is based on points from various tournaments, including Continental Open, Grand Prix, Grand Slam, Masters, Continental Championships, World Championships, and Olympic Games. Points expire after 24 months, with a reduction to 50% after 12 months. A minimum of one contest must be won to earn points, except in Grand Prix, Grand Slam, World Championships, and Continental Championships, where participation also earns points. The ranking considers the five best results during each 12-month period, plus one extra result from Continental Championships or Masters. In case of equality, the ranking is decided by the highest sum of current points from World Championships, Grand Prix, Grand Slams, and Masters, and then by the highest current points from a single event. If a player changes nationality during the Olympic qualification period, they lose all points and start with 0.
