There are three common styles of manipulators: the Master, who uses force and charm; the Savior, who uses guilt and reminders of past favors; and the Victim, who uses helplessness to manipulate others. Signs of manipulation include undermining confidence, inconsistent actions and words, guilt-tripping, and emotional manipulation. The impacts of manipulation can be severe, including mental stress, depression, anxiety, and compromised self-confidence. To stop being manipulated, it's essential to be conscious and open-minded, recognize the difference between sustained encouragement and manipulation, and set boundaries to protect one's autonomy and well-being.
