- Definition: Literature is the art of writing, expressing personal thoughts and ideas through words.
- Submission Guidelines:
- Single literary work, handwritten or typed, with appropriate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Accepted styles: Prose, Poetry, Drama, Reflective essay, Narrative, Short story.
- Optional: Explanation of storyline or literary style significance.
- Judged on artistic vision, originality, and creativity, regardless of writing technique.
- Illustrated entries accepted, but only literary content is judged.
- Acceptable Use:
- Typed by another person with original work attached.
- Dictated and printed/typed for students in pre-school to 1st grade.
- Entries in non-English languages require interpretive English translation.
- Copyright & Plagiarism: Use of copyrighted material is prohibited; plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
- Submission Requirements:
- Original work, not exceeding 2,000 words.
- Handwritten/typed on 8.5x11 paper (one-sided only) or PDF file.
- Numbered pages, with student name, entry title, category, and division on the back.
