Nancy Gianni is the Founder and Chief Belief Officer of GiGi's Playhouse, a global movement of acceptance for individuals with Down syndrome. After her daughter GiGi was diagnosed with Down syndrome in 2002, Nancy was driven to change perceptions and maximize her daughter's successes. Today, she leads 40 GiGi's Playhouse locations, offering free educational, therapeutic, and career training programs. Nancy has been recognized as a 2016 CNN Hero and has received numerous awards for her work, including being named "Chicagoan of the Year" in 2008. She is a sought-after speaker and has written a memoir, #GenerationG, with all profits going towards GiGi's Playhouse. Nancy resides in South Barrington, Illinois, with her husband and children, including GiGi.
