Climate: 2014-2015 season had intense frosts, warm weather later, prompting early harvest for fresher wines.
Vineyard Management: 4,348 plants/hectare, low vertical shoot position, spur pruned, manual leaf pulling.
Vinification: 85% Syrah, 15% "secret", hand-picked, destemmed, crushed, 2-day cold maceration, native yeasts, 4 daily pump-overs, malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
Oak: 48% aged in French oak barrels for 9 months, 52% aged on fine lees in concrete tank.
Laboratory Analysis: 14.3% vol alcohol, pH 3.59, total acidity 3.08 g/L, residual sugar 2.28 g/L, volatile acidity 0.48 g/L.
Tasting Notes: Deep violet color, fresh and fruity nose, aromas of blueberries, cherries, violets, pepper, pencil lead, medium-bodied, fresh and vibrant palate, ripe tannins, long delicate finish.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar for up to 6 years.
