Summary

The MOC3009, MOC3010, MOC3011, and MOC3012 are optically coupled isolators consisting of a Gallium Arsenide infrared emitting diode coupled with a light activated silicon bilateral switch performing the functions of a triac. They are mounted in a standard 6-pin dual-in-line package.

The devices have high isolation voltage (5.3kVRMS, 7.5kVPK), 250V peak blocking voltage, and all electrical parameters are 100% tested. Custom electrical selections are available.

The devices are suitable for applications such as CRTs, power triac drivers, motors, consumer appliances, and printers.

The absolute maximum ratings are:

- Storage temperature: -55°C to +150°C
- Operating temperature: -40°C to +100°C
- Lead soldering temperature: 260°C (1.6mm from case for 10 seconds)

The input diode has a forward current of 50mA, reverse voltage of 6V, and power dissipation of 70mW.

The output photo triac has an off-state output terminal voltage of 250V, forward current (peak) of 1A, and power dissipation of 300mW.

The total power dissipation is 330mW, derating linearly by 4.4mW/°C above 250°C.

The devices have the following electrical characteristics:

- Input forward voltage (VF): 1.2V to 1.5V
- Reverse current (IR): 100μA
- Output peak off-state current (IDRM): 100nA
- Peak blocking voltage (VDRM): 250V
- On-state voltage (VTM): 1.5V to 3.0V
- Critical rate of rise of off-state voltage (dv/dt): 10V/μs
- Critical rate of rise of commutating voltage (dv/dt): 0.1V/μs to 0.2V/μs

The devices have a high input to output isolation voltage of 5300VRMS and 7500VPK.

The devices are available in various options, including 10mm lead spread, surface mount, and tape and reel.

The devices are manufactured by ISOCOM Components 2004 Ltd. and are available for purchase through their website or through authorized distributors.
