Summary

The farm is transitioning from summer to fall with humidity easing and temperature dropping, and the fields are seeing seasonal changes with heat-loving crops being replaced by cool-weather veggies. The last potatoes and tomatoes will be in the share, but root veggies and greens are starting to size up, and sweet potatoes and winter squash are being harvested. Some summer crops like eggplant, okra, and hot peppers are increasing production and will be in the share for a while longer. The PYO is still full of goodies, including Roselle, a fruity relative of hibiscus and okra with a tart cranberry flavor. The share includes acorn squash, onions, radishes, turnips, greens, potatoes, and carrots, and the PYO has a variety of herbs and flowers. Two recipes are provided: Green Goddess Dressing/Marinade and Pepper Poppers. Fall CSA tours are scheduled for October 8th and November 5th, and registration is now open.
