Summary

Thermal buckling analysis of a three-dimensional functionally graded (FG) plate with clamped-free-free-free (CFFF) boundary conditions is performed. The plate's material properties vary in the axial, longitudinal, and thickness directions according to a power law distribution. The finite element method is used to analyze the effect of the power exponent and boundary conditions on the critical buckling temperature of the FG plate. The results show that the critical buckling temperature decreases as the gradient index increases. The study also compares the results with published values and finds good agreement. The thermal buckling mode shapes for the FG plate are also presented.
