The Academy of Finland and Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, aim to provide funding for high-level scientific research and support the development of research environments. The Academy focuses on basic research, career opportunities for researchers, and international cooperation, while Tekes funds industrial projects and promotes innovative, risk-intensive projects. The results of FinnSight 2015 will be used to develop Strategic Centres of Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation.
