Summary

A method for automatic extraction of roof structures from point cloud data of ancient buildings using a deep learning framework is proposed. The approach utilizes a modified Dynamic Graph Convolutional Neural Network (DGCNN) trained on simulated data and geometric attributes to extract roof structures from real point cloud scenes. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method, which can extract rooftop structures from real scenes, and demonstrate the potential value of simulated data when real point cloud datasets are scarce.
