Summary

A new spatial and temporal fusion model with auto-regression error correction (AREC) is proposed to blend Landsat and MODIS images, obtaining a composed image with both high spatial and temporal resolution. The model is based on the spatial temporal auto-regression model and includes steps such as unsupervised classification, land cover change detection, and regression modeling. Experiments conducted on a data set in Shenzhen, China, show that AREC effectively predicts land cover changes and outperforms the Spatial and Temporal Adaptive Reflectance Fusion Model (STARFM) in terms of objective indexes and visual analysis.
