Summary

The MOVING project, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, has released a report on participatory value chain analysis. The report, D4.3, examines the structure and valorisation of 23 mountain value chains across Europe, including evaluation of tele-coupling, assemblage, and enabling institutions and infrastructure. The analysis was conducted by researchers from the James Hutton Institute and other partners in the MOVING consortium, with input from 766 participants in regional Multi-Actor Platforms. The report covers various value chains, including meat, crop, cheese, bio-honey, alcohol, tourism, and public goods, and assesses their economic, socio-cultural, and environmental valorisation and outcomes. The study also explores the spatial analysis and tele-coupling of these value chains, examining the global value chains and markets, the location of value chain practices, actors, and outcomes.
