1. Weed Control: Dimethazone and metribuzin combinations effectively controlled a broad spectrum of weeds, including red root pigweed, fall panicum, and carpetweed, with dimethazone alone providing excellent control of these species. However, no significant control of carpetweed was observed with the herbicide combination.

2. Soybean Yield: Increased rates of dimethazone did not enhance soybean yield. While higher rates led to greater weed control, they did not result in higher soybean yields. The study suggests a high degree of weed competition at the control rate of dimethazone, but no additional benefit from increased rates for soybean yield.

3. Herbicide Application: Pre-emergent (dimethazone) and post-emergent (metribuzin) herbicide applications were effective for weed control in soybeans. The combination of these herbicides resulted in broader spectrum control compared to either alone, except for carpetweed.

4. Pre-plant Incorporation and Premixing: Dimethazone was equally effective as a pre-plant incorporated or pre-emergent herbicide. No significant yield increase was observed with higher rates or combinations, indicating optimal weed control without yielding more soybeans.
