Das IGF-Vorhaben 168 EN zielt auf die Entwicklung von DLC-basierten Duplex-Beschichtungen für hochbelastete Umformwerkzeuge ab. Die Forschung konzentriert sich auf die systematische Untersuchung der Abhängigkeiten von Nitrier- und Beschichtungsparametern, um Handlungsrichtlinien für die Herstellung zuverlässig hochbelastbarer DLC-Beschichtungen auf komplex geformten Werkzeugen und Bauteilen zu erarbeiten. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Nitrierung einen positiven Einfluss auf die Schichthaftung des DLC hat, jedoch auch zu einer Verschlechterung der Ermüdungsfestigkeit führen kann, wenn die Stickstoffkonzentration im Nitrierplasma zu hoch ist.
