Summary

This process corrects for the parallax effect when determining the precise location of an object on Earth's surface from satellite observations. It accounts for the distance between the satellite and Earth's center, as well as the observed object's height above the surface.

Input Requirements:
- Satellite height (hsat) above Earth's center.
- Latitude (sat) and longitude (λsat) of the satellite's subsatellite point.
- Height (hcloud) of the observed object (e.g., cloud top).
- Assigned latitude (cloud) and longitude (λcloud) of the object.

Output:
- Parallax corrected latitude (cloud,corr) and longitude (λcloud,corr) of the object.

Steps:

1. Convert Satellite Position to Cartesian Coordinates: The satellite's position is expressed in geodetic coordinates relative to Earth's center using trigonometric functions.

2. Convert Cloud Surface Position: The surface position of the observed object (cloud) is also converted to Cartesian coordinates, considering the local Earth radius at that point.

3. Calculate Local Radius Ratio: This step accounts for variations in Earth's radius at different latitudes and heights.

4. Compute Difference Vector: The difference between the satellite and cloud positions is calculated.

5. Parallax Correction Calculation: A correction is applied using a complex formula involving the difference vector, local radius ratio, and various geometric terms related to the cloud's height and Earth's radii.

6. Apply Correction: The Cartesian coordinates of the cloud position are adjusted based on the computed correction.

7. Convert to Latitude and Longitude: Finally, the corrected Cartesian coordinates are transformed back into latitude and longitude (cloud,corr and λcloud,corr) using trigonometric functions and considering the quadrant of the 360° circle.
